Brooks, Albert (b. 1947) The satirical comedian who developed into a character actor specializing in nebbish roles, he provided the voice for the uptight, overprotective clownﬁsh father Marlin in Finding Nemo (2003). He was born Albert Lawrence Einstein in Beverly Hills, California, the son of show business parents, and brieﬂy attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh before starting his career as a stand-up comic. After making many nightclub, concert, and television appearances and writing-performing two successful comedy records, Brooks turned to directing short ﬁlms and television spots but he found more fame as an actor in such movies as Taxi Driver (1976), Private Benjamin (1980), Unfaithfully Yours (1984), Broadcast News (1987), Mother (1996), and The InLaws (2003).
