You must determine the legitimacy of assumptions and final conclusions. A number of methods for doing this are given in the Review. A typical question might ask you to attack or find a fact that weakens an argument. You must find the premise (one of the answer alternatives) that defeats the author’s assumption. The categories of questions and how to identify them were discussed. If you are able to recognize what a question is asking, you will know what reasoning tactic to apply.
